In Presidential plane crash Tu-154 at the airport in Smolensk was killed President Lech Kaczynski. Lech Kaczynski was the fourth President of the Republic and the third chosen by direct election.
Nobody survived the crash. On board were Polish President Lech Kaczynski and his wife Maria, a former president of Poland in exile Ryszard Kaczorowski, Deputy Marshals of the Sejm, Jerzy Szmajdzinski and Krzysztof Putra, Deputy Speaker of the Senate Krystyna Bochenek, Presidential ministers, human rights ombudsman, Janusz Kochanowski, the NBP president Slawomir Skrzypek, president of IPN Janusz Kurtyka, activist Anna Walentynowicz solidarity. Information on the presidential plane crash sparked shock and despair.
Speaker of the Sejm Bronislaw Komorowski (58 liters), which serves as the last head of state, ordered a week of official mourning. But even without official orders Poles gathered yesterday across the country - they wept, prayed together experienced this tragedy. The pain combined with our world - from every corner came his condolences.
Largest crowd gathered in Warsaw before the Presidential Palace. Pictures of smiling couples presidential girded black ribbon literally drowned in a sea of \u200b\u200bflowers. Many people wept, prayed quietly. We could hear the word "barges."
Flowers and candles appeared wherever they lived and worked, those who died. Candles lit in front of the SLD and in front of the Sejm.
Rozdzwoniły Jasna Gora monastery in bells and bell Zygmunt in Krakow, which beats only in special moments for our nation. Throughout the country, masses were held for the victims.
